My name is Walter Cardillo,
and my world is sound.

Seeking an entry level position as a sound designer/mixer. Sound design and production are my passion. I recently completed a Graduate Certificate at Berklee College of Music in Mixing, Master, and Production for Visual Media. I also have a BA in Cultural Anthropology, which informs how I view the world of sound. I carry a recorder with me in my backpack, capturing soundscapes that I incorporate into my music compositions. I am hardworking, collaborate well with others, and am a very careful listener.

I have a strong understanding of how to mix and master soundscapes and compositions, incorporating western music theory as well as influences of tonal structures from global traditions. Ability to mix clean, multi-layered sound designs with complex textures and input processes. Particular sensitivity to creating soundscapes that are appropriate for compositions and various listening environments. I can’t wait to learn more.

• DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATIONS

3 years of experience mixing, composing, and mastering with Ableton Live and ProTools. Advanced understanding of all available audio and instrument effects as well as Rewire to incorporate software from other DAWS. Working knowledge of Reason and WWise.

• MUSIC COMPOSITION

Wrote, mixed and performed multi-instrument electronic music compositions in a variety of sub-genres including ambient, dance, drum and bass, pop, folk, alternative rock, hip hop, and experimental.

A great deal of Walter’s skill is directly attributable to his own initiative and inventiveness;
determining how he got a particular result sometimes took a lot of analysis on my part. Speaking
as an experienced teacher, there are some students who perhaps teach me as much as I teach them,
and Walter is one of those people. This is just another reason I appreciate having had the
opportunity to have him in class, and it makes me confident in recommending him for any opportunity.
